Elton John paid an emotional tribute to the Glastonbury crowd after his barnstorming set on the main stage yesterday evening.
The 76-year-old music legend brought down the curtain on the whole weekend with a set packed full of his hits, as well as a few special guests.
The crowd and Elton must have been quite emotional as it all came to a close, though.

This show is Elton’s last ever date in the UK, as he winds down a career that spans five decades and countless classic songs.
Over the course of just two hours yesterday, he rifled through his bag of tunes for one last time before moving off into the distance, never to grace the stage on these shores again.
It was clear during the show that Elton was getting a bit caught up in it all, thanking the audience and tearing up on a number of occasions.

After the show had finished, Elton was whisked away out of Worthy Farm, but shared an emotional message to everyone there and everyone watching at home.
On Instagram, he shared a number of photos from the show, with the caption: “Thank you, Glastonbury.”
He wrote: “The energy last night was like nothing else, and I couldn’t be more grateful to the crowd and the people watching at home for all your love and support.
“You will be in my heart and soul forever.

“UK, what a farewell. I love you.”
Loads of people have piped up to congratulate Elton on a smashing set, with footballer David Beckham even getting involved.
“No, thank you,” he said.
Another fan wrote: “I was front row and it was an honour to see you perform.

“We will be talking about this for decades to come. Thank you Elton.”
The performance was record-breaking, too.
More than seven million people watched the show on the BBC last night, making it one of the most-watched shows of the year so far.
Furthermore, he is estimated to have had the biggest crowd that Glastonbury has ever seen, although the data on that is a bit hard to come by.

If some reports are correct, he might have managed to pack 100,000 more than even Dolly Parton – the previous record – did back in 2014.
Dolly won’t mind, presumably.
On stage, Elton gave a great performance, ably helped by guests such as The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers, Jacob Lusk, Rina Sawayama, and Stephen Sanchez.
The stars were out in the audience, too.
Hollywood actor Kate Hudson and fashion designer Stella McCartney were in attendance.
Elton also put aside some time to pay tribute to George Michael, who sadly died a few years ago, before singing 'Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me'.
If you’re going to retire, it must be nice to go out on top like that.
