One of the most recognisable houses in the history of Christmas films is up for sale - and it'll set you back a lot of money.
671 Lincoln Ave, Winnetka, Illinois is best known as the residence of the fictional McCallister family in 1990's Home Alone - with the family's festive holiday to France thrown into chaos when eight-year-old Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) is left behind.
As Kevin's mother Kate (Catherine O'Hara) rushes to get back to her son, Kevin is forced to defend his family home against a pair of burglars who are targeting the neighbourhood.
We all know what happens next, Kevin turns his home into an impregnable fortress which sees home invaders Harry and Marv subjected to a series of seriously painful boobytraps.

While the size and grandeur of the house sparked has sparked many discussions amongst fans - chiefly, what exactly does patriarch Peter McCallister do in order to afford a massive house and lavish lifestyle? - not everybody is aware that you can actually live in the iconic home for a small fortune, of course.
Currently listed on realtor site Redfin, the sprawling mansion could be yours for an eye-watering $5,250,000 (£4,109,542).
The house boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, an impressive indoor sports court and a home movie theatre across 9,126 Sq Ft.

However, don't expect the inside of the house to still look the same 34-years after Home Alone premiered, as the current owners have completely overhauled the interior decor.
Gone are the colourful paint, busy wallpaper patterns and heavy furniture commonplace in 90's homes - with the house having undergone a fully renovation and extension in 2018.
The house now has a much more neutral colour palette, with white walls alongside black, grey and navy embellishments - meaning that re-creating the film's iconic scenes would incur a massive cleaning bill.

Look close enough and you'll still be able to spot some of the rooms featured in the film, for example the main staircase which Kevin once sledded down is still recognisable.
The house's exterior is also close to identical, with the realtor site explaining that the current owners 'took the utmost care in maintaining the architectural detail and integrity of the home's most memorable and recognisable spaces' of the house.
However it seems like Home Alone fans aren't too happy to see the mansion's current interior and shared their reactions on social media.

"Look at how they massacred my boy," one X user replied to a listing, while another added that looks straight out of 'a John Lewis catalogue'.
Another user was quick to use the house to point out the difference in home interior across the last 30 years, adding: "You really clearly see the change in aesthetic values.
"The 90s was still connected to a sort of Americana aesthetic with signs of busy family life (even when portraying a very wealthy family), today it's much more about sleekness and perfection."
