Logic be damned, I’m sure all of us want as many characters as possible to come back for the Peaky Blinders film.
For any kind of film to follow up from a TV show, we truly do just want every possible character to come back in some way, living or dead, to give us that final payoff.
In a recent exclusive interview we spoke to Joe Cole, who plays John Shelby in the iconic Birmingham-based series, about whether he would consider returning for the upcoming film.

This comes after the recent news that Barry Keoghan has been added to the cast, in addition to the returning star Cillian Murphy.
Rebecca Ferguson has also joined the cast, and while no other actors have yet been confirmed – it is expected that several will return.
When discussing his return, Murphy said: “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me… It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”

Coming to Netflix, some fans may spot a key issue with Joe Cole coming back as John Shelby.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for Peaky Blinders
Many will remember that Cole did not make it to the later seasons of Peaky Blinders as his character was gunned down by the Changretta family in season four.

Despite this, we asked Cole whether he’d be up for returning for the film in some capacity, whether that be as a ghost or a simple flashback.
Cole said: “You’ll have to get the petition going on LADbible!
“I mean I had a great time on that show! I'm more than happy to come back as a ghost for five seconds and see the boys again, and see the girls again.
“It was a great time in my life working on the show with some phenomenal actors, and I'm excited to see that one.

“I don't know where they're going with it, but I believe it is going.”
When I suggested starting the ‘ghost petition’ Cole laughed, so… maybe it is on the cards?
The film does not yet have a release date (or any official ghost-related plans), but creator Steven Knight has opened up about the possible plot for the film.

He told Esquire: “The film, I know exactly what it’s about. And I know what two stories it’s going to tell. How the story will unfold, I don’t know.
“What will happen after that, I want that to depend on the film. For all we know somebody is going to pop out – I think I know who it’s going to be.”
He also said previously about season six: “Peaky – in this incarnation – comes to an end.
“But we’re doing a film which will also carry on the family and the stories into the Second World War.”
