Netflix has announced a huge star to join the cast of the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie.
Cillian Murphy was previously confirmed to be starring – something plenty of us fans were buzzing about.
Since the Peaky Blinders series ended on the BBC in 2022, we’ve all been itching for something else so this film seems like the perfect answer - even if we don’t quite know what it’s going to be about yet.
It’s coming from the original creator, Steven Knight, though, so that’s some assurance we’re in for a goodie.

Tom Harper is directing it, with Murphy also serving as one of the producers.
Other than it being set sometime during World War II, all we’ve known so far is that Tommy Shelby will be back with production beginning sometime this year.
And now it’s been confirmed that Rebecca Ferguson will be joining Murphy as a high-profile name in the Peaky Blinders movie.
The Swedish actor is, of course, known for the likes of playing Lady Jessica in the Dune films as well as appearing in the likes of Mission: Impossible, The Girl on the Train, The Greatest Showman and Silo.

In what seems like a booked and busy time for Ferguson, she recently wrapped on sci-fi thriller Mercy with Chris Pratt and has been confirmed to star in Kathryn Bigelow’s upcoming untitled Netflix project.
It’s not quite known just what role the 40-year-old will play in the film with Murphy, but surely it’ll be a big one – and a great one.
When Netflix confirmed the news on X this evening (25 July), fans responded with fire emojis and wrote: “Let’s go.”

And as fans were thrilled to see him cast, Murphy added: “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me.
"It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”
It’s said the Peaky Blinders movie will be released on Netflix in 2025.
