Kevin Feige has put a nail in Iron Man's coffin once and for all.
There have been rumours circulating Hollywood since Avengers: Endgame was released that Tony Stark could make an appearance down the track in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Unnamed sources have been suggesting the legendary superhero played by Robert Downey Jr. will show his face in an upcoming MCU project.

But the President of Marvel Studios reckons it's time everyone gave up on that hope.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Kevin Feige said of Downey Jr's final scene in the MCU where he dies following a battle with Thanos: “We are going to keep that moment and not touch that moment again.
“We all worked very hard for many years to get to that, and we would never want to magically undo it in any way.”

If, for some reason you haven't seen the moment, Iron Man manages to wrangle the Infinity Stones from Thanos just at the right time and prevents him from beating the Avengers.
However, the superhero makes a fatal decision that saves the world, but kills him in the process.
His final time on the big screen in the character is a sweet moment with Pepper Potts, where she tells him he can finally rest.

Endgame director Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that Downey Jr. was hesitant to come back to the studio to film reshoots after everything was wrapped up.
“We’d already said tearful goodbyes on the last day of shooting. Everybody had moved on emotionally,” Joe explained to Vanity Fair.
“We promised him it would be the last time we made him do it—ever.”
Anthony added: “That was a difficult thing for him to do, to come back to pick up that line.

"When he did come back, we were shooting on a stage directly opposite where he auditioned for Tony Stark.
"So his last line as Tony Stark was shot literally a couple hundred feet from his original audition that got him the role.”
That's one hell of a full circle moment for him and everyone involved in his journey from the first Iron Man film to Endgame.
