The production designer for Saltburn has revealed what Barry Keoghan was really slurping down in that bathtub scene.
The 2023 psychological black-comedy has been dubbed ‘the most disturbing film’ of the year due to some of it’s more outlandish scenes.
For those who haven’t seen it, Saltburn centres on Oxford University student Oliver Quick (played by Keoghan) who is invited by his super-rich classmate Felix Catton (played by Jacob Elordi) to spend the summer at his family’s stunning estate, Saltburn.

Directed by Emerald Fennell, the R-rated film also stars Rosamund Pike and Richard E. Grant.
The 'beautifully wicked tale of privilege and desire' has many twists and turns as we see Oliver's obsession with Felix grow out of hand, as well as some absolutely wild moments that people just can't stop talking about.
The movie left viewers taken aback - with one having to issue an apology to her family after putting it on for them to watch on Christmas Eve - due to some of its controversial scenes, including one in which Oliver drinks some of Felix’s semen after he masturbates in a bathtub.

The shocking scene has caused a stir online and even prompted one bar to create a special cocktail in its honour. Not sure I’d want to knock one of them back, but each to their own.
Saltburn production designer Suzie Davies spoke to Business Insider to share some behind-the-scenes information about how the scene was created - and also revealed what exactly Keoghan was drinking.
She shared that the room they filmed in was actually a repurposed bedroom, due to them not being able to find the sort of bathroom she wanted.

Davies went on to admit that the team were met with a bit of a challenge when they attempted to find a claw-foot tub that was large enough for 6'5 Elordi - and ended up making one.
“In fact, we made a couple of bathtubs," she said. "With one, we chopped a hole in the side for the close-up shot of Barry slurping up the water."
When it came to making some fake semen, the team used yoghurt, milk and some water to get the correct consistency.
Keoghan took four takes of the shot, with Davies adding: "He did it four times and really went for it. Every one he did was a different kind of slurp.”
