Video game fanatics counting down the days until we finally get our hands on GTA 6 reckon they have narrowed down the window for the game following a major announcement.
Anticipation for Grand Theft Auto VI is showing no sign of slowing down after parent company Take-Two Interactive announced earlier this month that an autumn 2025 release for the Rockstar game is still on the cards.
Dropping in either September, October, or November, it's the second time Take-Two has confirmed an autumn date, meaning it would be a shock for a delay at this point, with the release window just over six months away.

Grand Theft Auto fans thought we had a release date after one gaming store listed the game for purchase from 17 September before the shop was forced to issue a lengthy statement explaining why this was wrong.
Well, fans are at it again on the release date front. But this time, using Take-Two's own recent announcement as a legitimate base to form their guesstimates on.
A date for another of Take-Two's games, the highly anticipated Borderlands 4, was announced this week.

Developed by Take-Two subsidiary Gearbox Software and published by fellow subsidiary 2K, the fight entry in the Borderlands series will finally be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on 23 September.
As a result, those waiting for GTA 6 think Take-Two have inadvertently narrowed the window of release through the announcement.
"With Borderlands 4 officially set for a 23 September release, it’s looking more likely that GTA 6 won’t drop until late November at the earliest," one Redditor wrote in a post headlined 'it's clear now'.

"While GTA 6 is obviously on a completely different level, Take-Two probably wouldn’t stack two major releases so close together. A late November or early December launch makes more sense. It keeps the spotlight fully on GTA 6 while maximising holiday sales.
"Dropping it too close to BL4 would just create unnecessary overlap in marketing and release schedules Maybe a 4 December release?"

Fans reacted to the theory with enthusiasm. One said: "Pushing GTA 6 to October, November, December is great for a holiday sales push from Take-Two. All of the kids who can’t afford it will beg their parents to buy them it for Christmas."

A second posted: "I’d bet of them targeting late October to early November since I bet they’ll want to release it before the cut off for The Game Awards."
And a third added: "I was hoping for September / October but November seems to be the most likely month at present. They won’t put GTA 6 too close to B4."
Other's pinpointed 27 November; a reference to the '27 theory' that has floated around the GTA universe in the last few months.

This was after an image of Rockstar merch appeared online accompanied by a notepad on which the words '27 Auto Sales' were highlighted. Fans than clocked Rockstar had 27 posts on its Instagram account at the same time, with a theory from the end of 2024 saying this meant we were getting a new trailer on 27 December. We didn't, but it's enough to keep the fans excited.
"27 gang showing up outta nowhere," one wrote.
Either way, it would not make much business sense to release GTA 6 in the few weeks before or after Borderlands 4 is made available for purchase. That late October, November, or even early December prediction makes a lot of commercial sense; to not harm the performance of Borderlands 4 more than anything.
