The long-awaited GTA 6 second trailer may be on the horizon. Or so fans of the gaming franchise are starting to believe.
Since the end of 2024, those waiting for the release of Grand Theft Auto VI have been running through every sliver of information from developer Rockstar.
See the thing is, the game was officially announced in December 2023 a full day before it was expected after the launch trailer leaked online. Since then, Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive has been fairly quiet on the game. And by that, we mean they've said pretty much nothing.

We've had no new footage, no new stills or artwork, and certainly no second trailer. The most fans have been able to cling to is Take-Two confirming that the game is currently not delayed in to 2026 with an autumn release date seemingly as set in stone as it can be at this stage of the calendar year.
The best clues as to a GTA 6 release are currently coming from the release dates of other video games set to come out this year, with AAA rated products all currently avoiding the winter months. We wonder why that could be.
As for a second trailer, the rumour mill simply wont die down.
And this week, the fire was stoked once again with one fan account saying Rockstar's 'plan all along' might have been hidden in plain sight.

It's all to do with a t-shirt released on GTA 5 that you can also buy in real life.

A bunch of odd symbols and lines, there is a load of numbers surrounding the design. Random at first glance, they are anything but according to GTA sleuths.
In particular, with the numbers the sequence '040125' sticks out.
"GTA 6 Trailer 2 for April 2025 might’ve been Rockstar’s plan all along, as GTA 5’s cryptic shirt that revealed Trailer 1’s exact date and time also shows another sequence “040125” = April 1st 2025," the GTA 6 Countdown fan account over on X (formerly Twitter) posted this week.

Not everyone has been convinced since the post was put out on to Elon Musk's social network.

One person said it depends on how you write the date, with the USA putting the month first and date second while other nations do the opposite.
Another said it really does depend on where you're picking the numbers from, posting: "Well if you read the shirt backwards you can find 05/02/2025 as a date as well."
A third posted: "That endless number vomit could spit out my grandma’s birthday if you stare long enough."

And a fourth pointed to the long held belief that Rockstar love fan theories and may be planting fake leads to get the fanbase going once again.
"I reckon Rockstar just sit on all the fans speculating then go with the most popular one when deciding how/when they post trailers or updates," they wrote.
Please not again, Rockstar. Please.
