It’s coming: Season 2 of Gentleman Jack is well and truly underway, the BBC has recently announced.
Doctor Foster’s Suranne Jones will once again be taking on the role of land owner Anne Lister for the second instalment of BBC One’s period drama.
The first series was inspired by Lister’s actual coded diaries and explored “the first modern lesbian’s” love life, including that with Ann Walker (Sophie Rundle).

Season 2 of Gentleman Jack is set to be released on Sunday 10th April at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer, with a new episode premiering every week.
The eight-part-long drama has not yet been announced when it will be shown across the pond to US-based fans, although HBO has announced it will be premiering sometime in April. Watch this space!
Who is in the cast for Gentleman Jack Season 2?
Of course, there wouldn’t be a Gentleman Jack without Suranne Jones, who plays the main character and real-life lesbian industrialist Anne Lister.

Sophie Rundle, who plays Lister’s wife Ann, is also set to return in season two of the drama.
Fresh off her recent BAFTA win, Joanna Scanlan is also heading up the second series of Gentleman Jack as a guest star, playing Lister’s previous love interest Isabella ‘Tib’ Norcliffe.
