The new 10-part series is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) and her best friend Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) are said to be front and centre of the new show.
The character's relationship highlights a divide in the House of the Dragon that leads to the bloodiest civil war the country has seen.
Reacting to the trailer, one fan said: "This show is going to be perfect."

"The competition for the greatest show ever is here," a second added.
"Let the fire unleash!!!" a third commented, while someone else echoed: "FIRE FIRE FIRE!!"
Another excited fan added: "We will return the House of the Dragon to its proper glory."
Following a preview screening of its first episode, a writer for IndieWire said: "#HouseoftheDragon REVIEW: FIRE WILL REIGN! Wow. Violent! Shocking! EPIC.
