Amy Poehler has confirmed she’s down to bring back Parks and Recreation and reprise her iconic role of Leslie Knope.
Look, we know that we are tired of all of the underwhelming reboots that have unfortunately graced the world, but this could actually be great.
While attending the season two premiere of her show Russian Doll, the legendary comedian told People that she’s ‘always standing by’ to be reunited with her Pawnee pals.

She added: “Anytime anybody gives me the word, and I’m down.”
The actor also shared that her children ‘turned to comedy’ during the pandemic and binged the political satire mockumentary-style show.
I couldn’t think of anything worse than having to sit down and watch my mother during her glory days, but granted, my mother is not a former SNL cast member either.

The widely successful NBC show, which follows the Parks and Recreation Department in a fictional town in Indiana, ran from 2009 to 2015.
Parks and Recreation even came back for a special reunion in 2019, with the main cast appearing at the PaleyFest LA for the 10th anniversary.
Many fans commented on the reunion noting the cast's sheer chemistry and how they missed them since the show ended a few years prior.

One user wrote: “Aww this was nice to watch, such a great group of people, I wish the best for all of them, it was really touching when Amy was too overwhelmed to talk in the beginning, you can tell she’s really appreciative of all the love she’s getting.”
Another fan commented: “One of the best, realest depictions of female friendships! This show is a gem.”
A third said: “One of the best sitcoms ever. I'm binge-watching it now.”
We have no doubt fans would be equally excited, if not more, if the Pawnee squad ever got back together.

However, a series reboot may not be possible for some time, as Poehler is extremely busy with her new series, Russian Doll.
Last week she spoke with Today show co-hosts Hoda and Jenna Bush Hager on the importance of creating a female-driven show.
“We just know so many talented women,” she said.
“We were excited to work with them, and also I’m really proud of the fact that Natasha plays such an incredibly complex female character.”
