He was asked about what it was like to be in the couple's inner circle and explained what he saw behind closed doors.
Connolly was quizzed on an alleged moment in Australia where Depp and Heard were having an argument.
He confirmed he heard shouting coming from the inside of the home when he arrived, but couldn't make out the exact words that were being said.
Amber Heard's lawyer then asked Connolly to confirm if Depp was trying to urinate in the foyer of the home.

The bodyguard paused for a moment and looked confused by the question before bluntly replying: "No."
The response caused Depp and others in the courtroom to burst out laughing.
The attorney then tried to ask whether Malcolm saw the actor's penis, which prompted an objection for relevance.

But the bodyguard replied: "I think I would have remembered seeing Mr Depp's penis."
It wasn't the only moment during the day's testimony that sparked laughter in the courtroom.
Depp couldn't contain his amusement while watching a deposition from his former doorman.
Alejandro Romero was vaping in his car as he answered questions via video link and people inside the court thought it was hilarious.
Romero, who worked as a doorman at Depp’s former apartment building in Los Angeles, spoke from his car as he vaped, at one point even driving off in his vehicle.

During the deposition, Romero was asked if he recalled seeing Heard on a specific date.
He hit back: “I don’t remember. I don’t even remember what I got for breakfast.”
On another occasion, Romero said he had been asked to investigate a potential intruder at the apartment after scratches were seen on the door.
Romero said Heard and her friend Rocky Pennington had been ‘scared’ when they thought someone was trying to get into the apartment, only for him to realise it was the ‘dog’.

He said: “Really? You think someone’s trying to get into your unit? There's scratches, like, four inches above the floor on your door... That was your dog, trying to get into the unit.”
At this point, Depp could be seen sniggering from his seat, leaning back and giggling as Heard remained expressionless.
After the video was played in court and Romero appeared to start driving near the end, Judge Penney Azcarate said in disbelief: “I’ve never seen that before.”
Heard’s lawyer Elaine Bredehoft also said it was ‘the most bizarre deposition’ she had ever done.
