Lewis Capaldi has spoken about his girlfriend for the first time since going public with his relationship at the Brit awards earlier this year.
At least we think that was Lewis Capaldi since he was accidentally introduced as 'Sam' by Mo Gilligan during that ceremony, but the sensational singer took it all in his stride like a pro.
Anyhow, at the Brit awards Capaldi was pictured with girlfriend Ellie MacDowall, with the couple seen kissing at the afterparty.

While they're not bothered about having a relationship in the limelight Capaldi has since opened up about his girlfriend to Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2.
In classic Lewis Capaldi fashion his comments were very down-to-earth, relatable and incredibly sweet.
"I have a girlfriend and that’s going really well, I am happy chappy, she’s a lovely lady I feel good about everything," he said about MacDowall.

The singer went on to explain that some of his music was inspired by past breakups, with 'Hold Me While You Wait' penned after the end of his relationship to Paige Turley, who later appeared on Love Island.
Capaldi said his new song, 'Wish You the Best', is 'about someone moving on' as well as 'that feeling where you know it’s the best thing for that person'.
Joking that it was 'just a really happy song for the summer', he explained that it was an ode to 'dying inside' as you wish your former partner 'good luck' while also being about 'all the things you miss about them and why they should stay with you'.
Thankfully it seems as though all is fine and dandy for 'happy chappy' Capaldi in his new relationship with 'lovely lady' MacDowall.

Of course news that he's very happy in a relationship will be a huge disappointment to all the people out there just a little bit in love with Capaldi themselves.
It's hard not to like the guy when he does things like serenade a plane full of passengers in mid-air, duet on TikTok with Ed Sheeran or show up in a train station in London and just start playing music to the commuters.
If anyone who really likes Capaldi happens to be a builder then you might have a chance to worm your way into his good books as he recently revealed that he's looking for someone to fix up an 'absolute hell hole' of a house he bought on Ed Sheeran's recommendation.

On the outside the place is beautiful but the interior needs some work and, unfortunately, builders he tries to hire keep turning him down.
Capaldi has also more seriously talked about the possibility that he'll have to call time on his music career due to his Tourette's, admitting that performing makes it harder to deal with.
