The creators of Lupin absolutely love to keep us on our toes, but thankfully the mystery of when we'll be able to watch part three of the series has officially been solved.
More than a year after part two arrived on Netflix, the upcoming instalment will see master of disguise, Assane Diop, have to rely on his talents more than ever, as he attempts to hide in plain sight now that the police are on to him.
An official synopsis for part three reads: “Now in hiding, Assane must learn to live far from his wife and son. With the suffering they endure because of him, Assane can't stand it any longer and decides to return to Paris to make them a crazy proposal: leave France and start a new life elsewhere.

"But the ghosts of the past are never far away, and an unexpected return will turn his plans upside down.”
Creator and showrunner, George Kay, has already promised part three will be a 'departure into a new set of adventures', though it won't stray too far from its roots. He told The New York Times: "I’m looking to bring back even more of the fun from those early episodes.”
Based on the character created by Maurice Leblanc, Lupin stars Omar Sy and Ludivine Sagnier, first took the world by storm when it first arrived on Netflix in January 2021.

Fans were quickly able to binge part two just a few months later, but it's been a very long wait since then, and fans are hankering for Assane to come back with some new adventures.
Thankfully, the wait is nearly over.
In a post on Twitter today (20 April), Netflix shared a poster for part three of Lupin ,which showed the gentleman thief standing on top of a building, looking out over the city with his hat and coat in hand.
Alongside the image, the streaming service wrote: "Guess who's back in the city of light. Lupin Part 3 premieres October 5."

It might not be as soon as you'd hoped, but at least the end is now in sight - and it's just a few short months away.
Until then, we have teasers for the upcoming series to keep us going, with one clip showing Assane listing all of the challenges he's faced so far.
“I avenged my father,” he says in the clip. “I had to protect my family. I wanted to stay in the shadows, but I entered the light. Now, watch me disappear.”
We will, Lupin, but just please, hurry back.
