The talk might all be about Halloween at the moment, but come 1 November, the focus will shift towards Christmas for many people in the UK.
That means only one thing - the annual return of Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' to our eardrums
In fact, the song released 28 years ago yesterday (29 October) and is certainly ranked as many people's favourite Christmas song.
In 2021, it climbed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for the third straight year.

It also obtained a UK number one in the UK's official charts in 2020 - something Carey was elated with.
At the time, she said: "Happy Christmas UK!! We finally made it!!! We are keeping the Christmas spirit alive together despite how dismal the year's been. Love you always! Joy to the world!"
With the song nearly three decades old, that achievement is incredibly rare.
Last year, Carey's classic Christmas song obtained an incredible feat by achieving a certified diamond by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), which meant it became the first holiday song to earn the coveted award.

So with all that success, Carey is surely raking in the cash every holiday season.
While an official answer on how much she makes from the song has never been revealed, we do have a good idea - and it's a fair bit.
Thanks to a study by The Economist, Carey earns about $2.5 million per year for 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'.

The study also said that by 2016 the artist had earned $60 million from the song that released in 1994.
Take that to Christmas last year, Carey has likely raked in another $12.5 million taking her earnings on the song to over $72 million.
If the song is just as successful this holiday season, Carey could be looking at a staggering $75 million from just that one Christmas classic.

Some of Carey's earnings on the song come from royalties from streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music.
It doesn't stop there though, as Carey signed a lucrative deal with McDonald's last year, with the singer having her own Christmas menu known as the 'Mariah Menu'.
'All I Want For Christmas Is You' will surely forever associate Carey with the festive season - and you better get ready for hearing it again on the radio soon.
