TV’s favourite Spanish teacher-turned-choirmaster is back in the limelight this week, not, this time, for the questionable behaviour as Glee’s Mr Schue, but rather, as himself. Matthew Morrison (43), actor and broadway frequenter, abruptly left the judging panel of the competition show So You Think He Can Dance last Friday (27 May), and fans are, unfortunately, finding out why.
Sources close to the show revealed the actor has been sending inappropriate messages to a female contestant, revealing to People: ‘She felt uncomfortable with his line of comments and went to producers, who then got Fox involved. He was fired after they did their own investigation.’
Following an expansive career in TV, music, and the stage, what is Matthew Morrison’s net worth?

The bulk of his wealth was assumedly earned during his days on the set of Glee, Fox’s phenomenal musical drama following a high school Glee club. Portraying the choir’s leader Mr Schuester, Morrison was collecting up to $80,000 per episode at the height of his tenure.
The show, which came to an end in 2015, is somewhat memorialised by the problematic overly-friendliness of Morrison’s character – highlights include his use of drugs to blackmail students into joining the club, approaching them in the showers, and suspending one poor soul because they refused to wear a provocative outfit onstage.
Away from the series, he’s a broadway and off-broadway denizen, playing Link Larkin in the original cast of Hairspray in 2002. In the same year, he appeared in The Rocky Horror Show, and later in Adam Guettel’s The Light in the Piazza, for which he was nominated for a Tony Award in 2005.
Along with acting, Morrison boasts a collection of studio albums, beginning this venture whilst still a member of the Glee cast. In 2011, the self-titled record Matthew Morrison was released, featuring duets with singers like Elton John and Gweneth Paltrow.

His TV career has been diverse, with recurring roles in US dramas Grey’s Anatomy and The Good Wife, and more recently a role in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story 1984. He joined the judging panel of Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance in May, joining panellists Jojo Siwa and show alumnus Stephen Boss, only making it to week two after a quick departure.
In March 2022, he listed a $4.295 Million farmhouse in Monterey, California, which he shared with wife Renee Puente and their two children. The property, which the couple renovated in 2014 for $1 Million, boasts of three bedrooms and a hot tub.
