This means, of course, we only have just under four months to wait until we're reunited with our favourite superhero series!
It was announced back in late 2020 that the third series of The Umbrella Academy was set to begin production, much to the delight of fans worldwide.
Filming began in February 2021, in which star of the show Elliot Page shared a picture from set with the caption: "Omg we're back again."
The likes of Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore will all be reprising their roles alongside Page for the upcoming third season.

While not an awful lot is currently known about the plot of this upcoming season, it is strongly assumed that the series will kick off with the Sparrow Academy - which was introduced in the final scene of season two.
The Sparrow Academy remains somewhat a mystery, but the original comics by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá on which the show is based offer a little clue.
In an interview with Forbes, Way revealed some plot points for the comic's fourth volume, which is titled none other than 'Sparrow Academy'.
"[It] deals with a very big reveal in the Umbrella Academy universe, something that had been secret for a long time, and our siblings learn a lot about what was happening behind the scenes, as well as discovering the true nature of some characters that have been with them since the beginning," he explained.

"The series finally starts to answer the question: ‘What about the other babies born on that day, in that moment?’
"The Umbrella Academy siblings are not alone in the world anymore."
We can imagine Hotel Oblivion will also be checked into - a hotel-style space prison where the galaxy's worst supervillains have been incarcerated (in the comics) by The Umbrella Academy and other superheroes, as per TechRadar.

While Netflix has remained tight-lipped on the plot front, it has previously confirmed that the third series will consist of 10 hour-long episodes that were shot in Toronto, Canada.
The Umbrella Academy will be available to stream on Netflix on 22 June, 2022.
