One actor from Kaos has revealed that they have a famous dad who not only influenced the show, but that their connection was a secret to the directors until halfway through filming.
Kaos has been a massive success on Netflix, with the modern retellings of the stories of the Greek gods peaking at number one on the streamer’s charts.
Even now, nearly two weeks after it first released, the Jeff Goldblum-led series sits at number five in the charts in the US.
Add to it sitting at number three globally, it’s fair to say that the show has been well received by fans.

That is before you even consider the show’s stellar reviews, with an average score of 7.6 on IMDb.
The series features various modernised versions of Greek mythology, with Jeff Goldblum starring as Zeus.
One pair who form a central core tenet to the show was Orpheus and Riddy, aka Euridyce.
Whilst hugely altered for their roles in the series, the pair are based on the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus going into the underworld to save his wife Euridyce.

The married characters are both mortals but play a major role in the show and the battles of the gods.
The actor for Riddy, however, revealed an extra significance that the showrunners weren’t aware of.
Played by Aurora Perrineau, she revealed on Twitter that when she was cast on Kaos, the mood board of the show was heavily influenced by Baz Luhrman’s Romeo and Juliet.

Within that, supposedly the character of Mercutio, played by Harold Perrineau, featured heavily.
She tweeted: “FUN FACT: When I was cast in KAOS on Netflix, the mood board was heavily influenced by Baz Luhrmans Romeo + Juliet.
“Mercutio was prominent on the board. It wasn’t until part way through filming that the creators found out he is my dad.”

Her father, Harold, played Mercutio in the film, and quoted the post going: “This is a true story!”
When asked about whether she included her last name in her audition, she said: “People often think my dad looks too young to have a kid my age. And also I think being mixed can sometimes throw confusion around.”
One reply said: “This is WILLDDD. He will always be Mercutio”.
Another fan replied saying: “omg yes! This was how I described the vibe of the show to my mom just yesterday. I didn't know he was your dad or that it was officially influenced by that production but I could def feel that. Love you both btw <3”.
