Star of Netflix's The Perfect Couple addresses having a very famous dad

A star of Netflix’s The Perfect Couple has addressed the fact she has an incredibly famous dad.

Though kids of famous folks should not come as a huge surprise to any film and TV fans, this has still been a real topic of discussion of late.

Another major Netflix show, Kaos, had an actor recently reveal her dad was not only a famous celebrity, but one of the big inspirations for Kaos itself through his role in Romeo and Juliet.

While these actors may not directly be being given their big breaks by their parents in the way of Sofia Coppola being shoved in Godfather 3, their privilege is undeniable.

While Eve Hewson of The Perfect Couple didn’t directly address this privilege, the comparison she made for her famous dad seems to make it obvious she’s aware.

Before getting into that though the real question is, who is her famous father?

Eve Hewson, who plays Amelia Sacks in the Netflix murder mystery, is the daughter of none other than U2’s Bono.

No really, that one.

Speaking about it on the Today show, Hewson said: "He's such a stage dad.

“I've called him this before, and he loves it, but he's like the male Kris Jenner.

"He's all about it, just a huge, huge fan.”

She went on to say: "He's always like: ‘So this is what you gotta do: You gotta call up this person, you gotta do this,' and I'm like, 'Oh my God, calm down.'"

When asked by the show’s presenter whether he’s still like that today, when Hewson is a main lead in the number one show on Netflix who has also appeared in Stephen Spielberg films, she said: “Oh even now, you can't stop him.”

Hewson was recently announced by Jeff Sneider of TheInSneider to be in early talks to appear in Stephen Spielberg’s newest film, which was later confirmed by Deadline, reuniting with the director with whom she worked with on Bridge of Spies.

When one fan responded criticising the casting for nepotism, he said: “This is about Eve Hewson and I gotta tell ya, the nepo-baby thing is the stalest subject in Hollywood.

“Want a role in Spielberg’s movie? Be a better actress than Eve Hewson. Oh, you’re not? Then sit down and shut up. Who cares who her Dad is? You think Bono called in a favour?”

Hewson’s role in The Perfect Couple is sure to open up even more doors, as the show has now been the number one show in the world on Netflix for almost a week.
