Netflix fans can't get enough of new film based on true story with more than 10m views in two days

The new movie only landing on the streaming platform a week ago but already its had over 10m views

You know something is going to be good when everyone is talking about it, and that includes the latest releases on Netflix.

If you're swerving the hype around Bridgerton and looking for something to get your teeth into on Netflix, then join the 10.8 million people who have already watched the latest crime movie on the streaming platform.

Hit Man dropped on Netflix last Friday, June 7, and was met with rave reviews already. It's received a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and shot to the top of the charts in the UK.

The crime comedy film follows the true story of Gary Johnson, a teacher who moonlights as a tech guy for his local police department, until one day he takes on a new role – pretending to be a fake hitman.

The film is based on a real Gary Johnson, who was hired to ‘kill’ more than 70 people.

Not just a hit man and a professor, Gary was also a Vietnam war vet, an animal loving Buddhist, three times divorced and lived alone with his two cats when he wasn’t putting on disguises to pretend to be a killer for hire.

Film fans have gone wild for the movie, with one writing on Twitter/X: "I’m not a big fan of theatrical releases hitting Netflix after only 3 weeks, but Hit Man was an incredible movie."

Another shared: "Omg I’m watching the new Hit Man movie on Netflix & it’s so good! I’m intrigued."
