Is there any feeling as unique as watching a show and going ‘wait a minute, who’s that? That guy right there? What’s he been in that I recognise his face?’
As a full time TV and film writer, this is a feeling that must immediately be resolved, and can be quite annoying to anyone watching with me as I furiously pull up IMDb and start parsing my way through the cast list.
However, this is a sensation that many viewers have also been experiencing while watching Netflix's The Perfect Couple.
Before you yell at me, no we don’t mean Nicole Kidman or Dakota Fanning. Obviously.

The character that has most surprised fans when they realise who he is though, is Thomas Winbury.
The s**thead husband to Abby Winbury and son of Tag Winbury, he is not only a massive part of the show, but a huge part of the ongoing who-dunnit mystery.
With The Perfect Couple now having been the number one show in the world on the streaming platform for coming up on a week, many have been asking themselves where they know him from.

The answer? Likely Midsommar, in which Jack Reynor pre-dated his s**tty husband in The Perfect Couple by playing a s**tty boyfriend in the iconic horror film.
The actor has also appeared in the underrated classic Sing Street, as well as Transformers: Age of Extinction.
One fan tweeted: “So happy that the asshole boyfriend from Midsommar upgraded to even bigger asshole husband in The Perfect Couple.”
Another fan replied by pointing out that he was also the ex in Flora and the Son ‘in case they forgot’, with the original poster saying: “Oh my god I did forget.”

When someone else replied that he was also the lovable older brother in Sing Street, they said: “Once again, I forgot about that! Clearly he’s just too memorable as the terrible men he plays”.
This was a common theme, with multiple fans pointing out how unfortunately great Reynor is at playing grade-A w*nkers.
Another fan replied: "I really applaud Jack Reynor’s commitment to never playing a likable human."
Reynor's portrayal as Thomas Winbury is one of the highlights of a show that has quickly become one of the biggest of the year.
