Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson turned 50 today (2 May) and humanity as a whole will agree it’s been an absolute pleasure having him around this last half century.
To celebrate, we’re revisiting one of the internet’s favourite photos of the WWE legend, and it’s no less mind-blowing the second time around.
Cast your minds back to February 2021, when Jimmy Fallon got his hands on a photo of Johnson at the age of 15 that was so astounding it started a whole viral trend.

Posting a photo of teenage Dwayne posing in nothing but a pair of white shorts next to a snap of himself at the same age, Fallon wrote: “The Rock at 15 vs. me at 15.”
Johnson’s appearance - that of a Michelangelo sculpture - collectively blew the internet’s mind, prompting hoards of social media followers to share side-by-side posts of their own.
Others, presumably too nauseated by the prospect of having to look at a photo of their teenage selves juxtaposed with the absolute feat that is The Rock, simply mustered up the strength to express their shock.

One person simply wrote: “I’m dying” while another exclaimed: “How is The Rock 15 in this dang picture?!”
A third Twitter user penned: “You don’t even look like the same species.”
“Oh gosh,” wrote a fourth, while a fifth rightly wondered ‘what the f**k’ they were looking at.
Other comments included: “Brah…”, “Damn Dwayne!” and “Who is telling 15 year old The Rock that he needs to clean room.”

It comes days after Johnson took to TikTok to share his new waxwork figure at Madame Tussauds with fans.
Standing next to the hydrocarbon version of himself - which depicted the Jumanji actor wearing suit trousers and a waistcoat while holding a glass of tequila - Johnson showed off the uncanny resemblance.
Strolling over to Khloe Kardashian’s figurine, Johnson then expressed his dismay at the glute discrepancy, noting: “Guys, can we - that's amazing! Can we add a little bit more? Give me some glutes. Some glutes just like that."

Before long, Johnson's clip had been viewed more than 13 million times, including by Kardashian herself, who wrote on Instagram: “It looks like I am in INCREDIBLE company. Yessss @therock.”
Beneath a clip of his waxwork’s unveiling, the Fast and Furious star gushed on social media: “This kind of stuff will always be one of the coolest parts of my job. Thank you Madame Tussauds for joining me to create such an awesome fan experience!”
