The Amazon Prime original show, The Boys, has officially been renewed for a fourth season. The news came only one week after the release of Season 3, which also saw a 17% increase in viewership from the previous series. Clearly the superhero drama is doing something right.
Viewers already had an inkling that the show was being picked up for a fourth season when one of the cast, Karl Urban, remarked that he would be “shooting The Boys through the end of the year”, after season 3 was already finished. However, Prime Studio’s officially confirmed it on Friday.
When asked about The Boys, the head of global television at Amazon Studios, Vernon Sanders, explained, “We’re just really excited. I’ve been thrilled to be witness to all of the magic that Eric (the show’s creator) and the team have created”.

But what will the fourth instalment hold in store for viewers? Here is everything we know about The Boys season 4:
When Will The Boys Season 4 Be Released?
While we do not have an official release date yet, we do know from Urban’s clue, that they will be filming season 4 until the end of 2022. From this we can infer that it might be just over a year until it’s release.
So, it doesn’t seem like we will have to wait too long! At least we have season 3 to keep us going for now.
Who Will Be In The Cast Of The Boys Season 4?
The Season 3 finale does not air until July 8th, leaving a question mark for now as to whether everyone will survive this season. Given what we know about the deaths in season 2, it is not guaranteed that all the fan favourite’s will be around for season 4. However, if all goes well, Season 4 should see the same faces on our screens. That includes, Anthony Starr as The Homelander, Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, Chase Crawford as the Deep, and many more.
