The Masked Singer on ITV has returned, leaving viewers scrambling on social media in an attempt to uncover who is indeed “behind the mask”.
The show sees celebrities dressing up in large, colourful costumes and performing cover songs to a panel of judges who try to work out what their real identity is.
The reality show is based on the South Korean show King of Mask Singer, which has since spread worldwide and has at last reached us here in the UK.
Who is Poodle on The Masked Singer?
Four celebrities have already been revealed on the show, leaving very few contestants left to identify before the winner of The Masked Singer 2021 is revealed. One of those contestants is hiding behind “Poodle”, but who could it be?
This low-key terrifying, brightly coloured creature did a performance of Elton John’s “Rocket Man”, and provided more clues than you can shake a stick at, no pun intended.
Poodle’s clues had mentions of queens, performing, dogs, and flamboyance, as well as making a reference to the Royal Variety Show.
The star said: “I’ve always loved a bit of glamour and I don’t mind telling you that flamboyance is a little bit fabulous. It’s something I’ve always admired.”
“I can’t wait to be let off the leash in this competition. I’m very eager to start. Are you r-r-r-ready for me? Ruff,” they continued.
Poodle also said: “I once went on a very long walkies.”
Fans took to Twitter to guess that comedian and For the Love of Dogs presenter Paul O’ Grady was hiding behind the eccentric character.
O’Grady is no stranger to drag shows, performing as Lily Savage for many years, as well as starring in the Royal Variety Performance.
Others on the platform also thought that Poodle could be Gary Barlow.
