Sure, there’s plenty of things that are ‘so British’; cups of tea, fish and chips, complaining about the weather.
But there’s also the tradition of watching quiz shows and shouting every answer at the screen.
That’s of course followed up by the mega eye rolls and smugness when the contestants get it wrong. Or, completely denying you ever said anything when you’re the one who gets it wrong.

And one of the biggest quiz shows on TV has to be The 1% Club.
Saturday nights spent playing along with Lee Mack? Boss.
Last night’s (9 March) episode on ITV had viewers in shock as another show record was broken.

Even Mack was pretty stunned as a mega number of people used their pass on a question people reckon was ‘obvious’.
In case you’ve been missing out on this edition of quizzing, it sees 100 members of the public putting their common sense, intelligence and logic to the test.
And then after working through levels of question, any contestant who correctly answers a question that only one percent of the nation got right wins a share of up to £100,000.

During this week’s show, the contestants clearly were stumped.
It read: “Which of these is the odd one out in this CONUNDRUM?” With a choice of answer from: “A. cord, B. norm, C. noon, and D. Moon.”
Despite only being halfway through the game, the players found the question so mind-boggling that a whopping 39 of them chose to use their pass – something they can only do once.

Four of them did get it wrong as Mack explained the correct answer was ‘D. Moon’ because it couldn’t be formed from the letters in ‘conundrum’.
The host was stunned as he said: “Now here’s the interesting thing, you lot have just broken a record on The 1% Club, because four people went out, but it’s not four people that didn’t know it.
“39 people used a pass. 39. I think that's the only time ever on the history of this show more people used a pass than actually knew the answer.
"I'm genuinely in shock."

And viewers were amazed too as they wrote on X: “Omg the amount of people that used a pass.”
Another put: “39 used their pass on this one??? #The1PercentClub Christ!!”
The show’s account even joked: “Haven’t seen that many passes since the last @ManCity match.”
Others used the ‘I’m done’ GIF as they wrote: “39 people after that last question…”
Would you have used the pass?
