Walton Goggins has come under fire from fans after sharing his reaction to the controversial The White Lotus-themed Saturday Night Live skit.
The writers at SNL are no strangers when it comes to parodying US politics and TV shows in the most brutal manner, however, the show has now been hit with backlash from fans after its latest offering poked fun at actor Aimee Lou Wood's appearance.
Titled The White Potus, the sketch combined elements of the latest season of the HBO series with key political figures in the White House in an attempt to imagine what a luxury break would look like for Donald Trump and co.

In one scene, we see episode host Jon Hamm reimagine Robert F. Kennedy Jr as Walter Goggins’ character Rick, while Sarah Sherman plays Wood’s character Chelsea.
Unlike the rest of the cast, which were clear parodies of either Republican figures or the Trump family, Sherman's Chelsea was reduced to a handful of lines said in an exaggerated accent and a very obvious set of false teeth.
"Fluoride, what’s that? Oh look, a monkey!" is Sherman's only notable line in the skit, while she keeps her mouth barred at all times to draw attention to the fake gnashers.
Wood was understandably upset by SNL's decision to poke fun at the fact that she dared to enter Hollywood with a set of natural and perfectly normal teeth - not the blinding white veneers which most Americans have - and made her thoughts very clear on Instagram.
"But whilst in honest mood - I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny xo," she wrote on her story.

"The whole joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth not bad teeth."
As fans rally around Wood in support of her statement, her co-star Goggins has found himself in hot water among The White Lotus viewers due to his initial support for the sketch.
Goggins shared his praise for the video on Instagram, commenting 'Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg' under a clip posted on the official SNL Instagram page.
He later doubled down by sharing the video onto his Instagram story, writing: "SMASHING. Jon… I knew I was miscast."

Although Goggins' comments didn't directly reference Wood or her character, many were disappointed by his response.
"Not really. @aimeelouwood deserves better than this. She’s amazing," one person replied to his Instagram comment, while a second wrote: "Disappointing response given its upset your co-star."
"Eh... No. It was mean with Aimee. Totally uncool and rude," a third added.
While Goggins has not addressed the fan backlash to his comments, Wood has stated that she's since 'had apologies from SNL'.
