Helen Flanagan has spoken out about ongoing rumours regarding her being in a ‘throuple’ with boxer David Hayes, admitting it was a ‘quite dark’ time of her life.
Flanagan appeared on the show Celebs Go Dating, in which she broke her silence on the rumours.
The actor, known best for Coronation Street, started dating Haye in 2022 following her split from Bristol Rovers winger Scott Sinclair.

The pair met on I’m A Celeb 10 years prior in 2012, and when they started dating Haye was still in an open relationship with his partner Sian Osbourne.
Osbourne and Haye continue to date to this day.
Flanagan told the hosts of the show on Celebs Go Dating: “I’d known him for 10 years. We did a reality show together. I remember the first time, seeing him in the jungle, I was like ‘wow.’

"It was quite something… it’s really hard for me to talk about.”
She went on to say: “He had a girlfriend and an open relationship.
“I didn’t mean to fall in love with him, but I did. We did have this amazing connection together – we were like fire.”

She elaborated saying: “It was weird – I think he does love his girlfriend and he loves me as well. It just brings me to a part in my life that was quite dark.”
Though some reports stated that Haye and Flanagan were in a throuple with his partner Osbourne, Flanagan denied these reports.
She responded to this by saying: “No. I was in love with him. I wouldn’t have enjoyed watching the man I was in love with have sex with another woman, that’s not for me.
“I had communication with his girlfriend, but I felt very guilty. I didn’t feel nice about it all. It really upsets me because I don’t mean to hurt other people but I was just really lonely.”

“I found it really difficult because it just happened. It’s not nice on another girl and I should’ve known better.”
Flanagan was tearful throughout, also admitting that her breakup with former Manchester City and Celtic footballer Scott Sinclair ‘felt like a divorce’.
The pair were not married but share three children together.

When previously asked about the rumours he was in a throuple with Sian Osbourne and singer Una Healy, Haye was coy.
He said: “I like to keep my private life private. I let people in through my social media a little bit, but what I do behind closed doors is between me and the girls involved.”
Healy later said she was ‘hoodwinked’ into a throuple brought on by ‘a midlife crisis’.
LADbible has contacted a representative for David Haye for a comment.
The latest series of Celebs Go Dating continues tonight at 9pm on E4.
