There’s no denying that The Inbetweeners had its fair share of somewhat crude and awkward moments.
Well, let’s be honest, quite a lot of them - even with scenes being cut from the show.
And of course, while character Simon is known for having a sock on his c*ck on the school trip, he’s also very well known for having his ball hanging out.

In one of the most memorable moments of The Inbetweeners, the lad struts his stuff at the school fashion show to help Carli but doesn’t realise he’s not totally covered up.
And Joe Thomas told LADbible about how ‘embarrassing’ it was to film. Although, the actor didn’t quite think the whole thing through at the time.
He explained how he trusted the show’s creators ‘for better or worse’ and would just ‘commit’ to the comedy.

“But I would say that it was amazing how little I thought about the testicle when we made it. I thought about it for about 28 seconds or so,” Thomas said.
“And it was so ridiculous because actually, it was really embarrassing filming it on the day - we had real people there and everything.
“And obviously, I had to do it over and over, and over and over again because like television is all about repetition - when you're making it, you film from different angles.
“You do a wide and you do a close up, and a testicle boy's own close up.”

Once filming of the episode was finally over, Thomas remembers thinking: “God, that was the most embarrassing day of my life, thank goodness that’s over.”
But obviously, fans of the show were then going to get to see it on their screens when it landed in 2010 as the beginning of season three.
He calls himself stupid as he remembers the moment of realisation as the opening credits began: “I was like, ‘Oh God, it's gonna be on the telly’.

“The entire point of it was ‘it's gonna be on the telly’ - it wasn't just a weird day that hopefully no one would hear about.”
And by that time, the viewing figures of The Inbetweeners had increased dramatically.
“So, I’d say that the group of people who’ve seen my face is maybe actually just a smaller group than the number of people who have seen my testicle - which is quite extraordinary really,” Thomas said.

“Face? Maybe. Testicle? Definitely, yes.”
But still, well over a decade later, the actor doesn’t regret any of it and is ‘pretty proud’ of The Inbetweeners.
Thomas added: "I guess I might find it quite hard to sort of, enter politics now but I probably wasn’t going to do that anyway."
