Police found Perry unresponsive, reportedly in a hot tub. NBC – which aired Friends - confirmed this tragic news in a statement: “We are incredibly saddened by the too soon passing of Matthew Perry.
“He brought so much joy to hundreds of millions of people around the world with his pitch-perfect comedic timing and wry wit. His legacy will live on through countless generations.”
While Perry is well-loved for playing Chandler, he also appeared in films and shows such as Fools Rush In and The Ron Clark Story as well as shows such as Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and The West Wing.
And when he was much younger, Perry appeared in the 1985 episode of Charles in Charge as Ed.

But fans have drawn parallels between this 80’s kid and his Friends character.
In the scene from episode ‘The Wrong Guy’, Ed is meeting a girls’ parents to convince them she can go on her date.
The young Perry wears a tie and sweater vest, speaking very politely and maturely for his age.

And fans point out in the comments: “Matthew being Chandler even as a child actor... The mannerism and way of speaking is just accurate as an adult chandler Character would do.”
As others echoed: “The fact that this is also a sitcom makes me think even more that it’s just young Chandler Bing.”
One even joked: “I just thought for a sec that Janice is about to enter through that door.”
And another put: “Could he be anymore Chandler!”
