The trailer shows huge full-scale battles ala Lord of the Rings, with the scale seemingly far larger than season one.
One fan commented on the trailer to say: "This looks far far better than season 1", whilst another said: "As someone that enjoyed season 1, but wasn't blind to its many faults and shortcomings, this looks like it will be a lot better if the end product is anything like this trailer".
A third said: "This feels better. Looking forward to seeing how things play out."

The first season faced a backlash, with many coming out to criticise the show for a magnitude of reasons.
Despite there being some genuine criticisms related to the show’s unfocused plot, large swathes of ‘critics’ of the show related to an online racist and sexist backlash.
This culminated in the show being review bombed, with Amazon temporarily suspending reviews.
This led to a huge disparity in the shows Rotten Tomatoes score, with an 83 percent critic score and a 38 percent audience score.

Showrunner Patrick McKay opened up about the backlash in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2022.
He said: “Some of what’s been hardest to hear is the cynical point of view that this is a cash grab.
“It’s like, oh my God, the opposite. This is the most earnest production.
“This is not a paycheck job for anybody. This is a labour of love.”

According to the outlet, Amazon believed there was a ‘coordinated effort to attack the show for daring to diversify Tolkien with strong female characters and people of colour.’
Fellow showrunner J.D Payne said of this: “The hardest part was for people on the cast who have had things related to them privately that are just harmful.”
He went on to say that the aim for season two is to be ‘bigger and better’ on ‘every level’.

Whilst season one cost over $700 million to make, season two was reportedly far less costly to make.
