It's not every day you spot a celebrity, so when you do, it's natural that you might want to capture that moment for evidence of the encounter.
That's probably why Alex Bennett's mum, Kim, asked her daughter to snap a photo when she spotted none other than Keanu Reeves walking the streets of New York. Unfortunately, Alex chose to go in a different direction when it came to recording the moment.

Out of all the celebrities that exist, Reeves has to be up there with one of the best ones to spot out in public. He's known across generations thanks to his appearances in The Matrix and more recently John Wick, and those roles have also made him one of the biggest stars in Hollywood.
But not only that, he's also famously friendly with his kind nature, prompting some to award him the title of 'the nicest guy in Hollywood'. Much to Tom Hanks' dismay, I'm sure.
So all in all, if you're going to run into a celebrity, Reeves is a good one to get. And Alex managed to document her mum's excitement about meeting him, because instead of snapping a photo, she decided to film a TikTok instead.

In the clip, which has racked up thousands of views on TikTok, Kim could be seen telling her daughter that she'd just spotted the A-lister and wanted to go and snap a picture with him.
Kim asked Alex if she knew who Reeves was, to which Alex actually responded: "No, I don't know him, but I'll go with you."
She then turned the camera to herself, saying: "I have no idea who he is."
Now, I could write a whole other article questioning how someone could not know who Keanu Reeves is, but it's unclear whether Alex was serious in the clip, or whether she thought her mum was mistaken, and was just going to be stopping some random Reeves lookalike for a photo.

Either way, her mum was right, and Alex had to pretend to snap a picture of the pair while actually filming a TikTok video, which would later be seen by thousands.
After Kim successfully got her picture with the Matrix star, she and Alex walked away and she excitedly told her daughter she needed to send her the picture.
"She is not gonna be happy when she realises I made a TikTok with it," Alex said.

Unfortunately Alex didn't decide to leave the camera on long enough to capture her mum's reaction, but hopefully she wouldn't have been too mad about the fact that she didn't get the still image she was hoping for.
Screenshots exist for a reason, after all.
