When it comes to sex, we'd all like to think we're doing a good job between the sheets.
The difficulty is that everybody has different preferences and you have to be adaptable if you want to achieve pro-lover status.

Being in tune with your partner's desires is extremely important.
Men and women are, needless to say, different in many ways.
And when it comes to doing the deed, there's some key differences here too.
Let's just say there are some things that excite women that men have no idea about.

In fact, there's a kink that millions of women have, and most of their male partners are totally oblivious to it.
What is this mysterious kink that is leaving the two sexes at odds during the hanky panky?
The 'praise kink'.
What is the ‘praise kink’?
Sex professor Dr Nicole K McNichols explained the kink: "People who have praise kinks get turned on by their partner complimenting them during sex.

"Praise kink exists on a continuum of course, because, I mean, who doesn't love being told that they're beautiful or hot or amazing in some way?"
So essentially, being turned on by words of affirmation or praise.
We all love hearing compliments, but this takes it to another level.
Daily Mail columnist Jana Hocking deemed it 'horrendously self-centred, slightly narcissistic, and probably a bit shameless to admit to'.

However, she conceded that she was 'totally on board with it'.
Pointing to the views amassed by a TikTok on the subject, she wrote: ""It has had a whopping 60 million views on TikTok so clearly I'm not the only one lapping it up."
Hocking continued: "The kink involves people who get off on hearing how wonderful they are (especially in the bedroom).

"So if you are like me and you go a bit wild when your fella calls you a 'good girl' while getting it on between the sheets... welcome, you are part of the 'praise kink' tribe."
Millions admit they’re into the ‘praise kink’
According to Edge Media Network, there are more than 513 million views on TikTok under the hashtag #praisekink.
But where have all these people come from?
Intimacy coach Dr. Jacqueline Sherman told Bustle: "Many social media users may have not realized they have praise kink tendencies until they saw it defined by others via social media, which left them feeling really seen."
The best ways to carry it out
Alright, so a lot of people get hot under the collar for praise. But is there more to it?
Popular praises that go down well whilst getting down include: 'You're doing such a great job', 'Your boobs look amazing from this angle', 'You're so good at that' and 'Baby, you feel amazing.'
Want to dip your toes into the praise kink waters but not sure where to start?
Jana Hocking had some tips: "Why not start slow?
"Start calling them baby, tell them how good it feels when they do a move you like, or surprise them with a loving text.
"Or do as my friend's date did, give them a damn standing ovation next time you think they look good."
I've heard of clapping in the bedroom before, but not like this.
