As 2023 draws to a close, holidaymakers are already planning their trips around the world for the next 12 months.
Amongst the hundreds of the most popular summertime hotspots for Brits abroad are the likes of Portugal's Algarve, the Canary Islands, Disneyland Paris and the Greek isle of Crete.

But travel experts are predicting a brand new location is set to top the holiday charts next year, and it's much closer to home than the Sunshine State.
Vigo, a breathtakingly beautiful city hidden in the often underrated region of northern Spain, is destined to welcome thousands of sun-seekers in 2024, professional globetrotters are assuming.
This gorgeous destination is surrounded by lush countryside, and due to it's placement in the picturesque region of Galicia, it is said to be bang in the centre of an area known by travellers as 'Green Spain'.

Vigo has seen a colossal upsurge in online searches amongst British holidaymakers over the last year, research by Skyscanner claims.
And whilst it may not be a city you initially consider when dreaming of your vacaciones perfectas, travel experts reckon you'll be pleasantly surprised the incredible tourist opportunities this city has to offer.
The No. 1 selling point is that the city is unlikely to be as overcrowded as other Spanish hotspots, like Benidorm or Malaga, due to the ideal mid-20s weather throughout the spring and summer months.
So, if you're prone to chaffing or simply don't thrive when in boiling hot holiday environments, this is the perfect place for you.

Its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean is also a huge selling point, being that Vigo is one of the only jet-setting locations that can boast both a countryside retreat AND a fun-fuelled city break.
Beach-lovers are apparently destined to fall in love with Playa Samil and Praia do Vao the Ocean, both of which are famed havens for surfers.
And the 300,000-population city itself is bursting at the seams with culture, boasting contemporary art exhibitions and theatres such as the García Barbón Theater, which hosts entertainment local plays and encapsulating dance shows.

Similarly, Castro Fortress - a now-abandoned military site - overlooks the bay of Vigo and provides visitors with an exclusive glimpse into the city's maritime past.
Perhaps the biggest temptation when it comes to booking your flights to Vigo, is the eyebrow-raising prices.
