We all like to think that we are perfect passengers when heading onto a plane, but it seems that flight attendants aren't as easily pleased as a lot of us presume.

You'd think you're in the clear after conversing politely with cabin crew and not complaining that you're meal was lukewarm, yet it seems there are plenty of things you can do while travelling that can tick off airline staff.

A US flight attendant has now revealed her top three pet peeves about passengers which she wishes they would stop doing - as by the sounds of it, it's really ruining her day.

In a Reddit post, the 33-year-old encouraged people to ask her anything they wanted about her line of work.

Her only stipulation was that queries about the mile high club weren't welcome - as she's been bombarded by them and said it had got to the point were they were 'getting annoying'.

So, one curious social media user plucked up the courage to ask the woman something which he'd really like to know about the airline industry - what are the most annoying things about working in it.

It read: "If you could magically wave a wand and have passengers stop doing three thing on planes; what would they be?"

As you can imagine, the flight attendant didn't hold back when responding in the forum.

First, she explained she is desperate for people to 'stop taking their shoes off and walking around in socks or barefoot' - and let's be honest, we can't really blame her.

No one wants to see someone's trotters stomping up and down the aisles for a start, but it's really not the most hygienic way to move around a plane - even if your feet have swollen up from being sat down for so long.

The second cardinal sin which she is sick of seeing holidaymakers make is people oversharing with cabin crew, especially if it has got something to do with your toilet trips.

She said: "Stop telling us too much information like, 'Can I go to the bathroom, I’m having diarrhoea'."

That one is pretty self explanatory to be fair, as having the knowledge that the person sat in row seven seat D is having tummy troubles isn't exactly something you want to hear during your shift.

And finally, she is eager for passengers to remember where they are and that there are plenty of other people around them too - who don't necessarily want to have to hear how you are passing the time during the flight.

She added: "For the love of everything that’s holy, use headphones. Nobody wants to hear your music or movie."

To be fair, there's nothing worse than being forced to listen to someone else's tunes or catching the tail end of the big twist in a film you haven't seen yet - so all in all, Reddit users reckon the flight attendants was spot on with these pet peeves.

One said: "These apply to pretty much every facet of public life. But, sadly, they still need to be said."

Another wrote: "Nobody needs to hear about your disgusting bodily functions. 'I really gotta go' will suffice."

And a third added: "This is solid, respectful behaviour."
