A nursing home finally adopted a pup sneaking away from his shelter and visiting the facility to play with the elderly residents.
Well, if this doesn’t absolutely warm your heart, nothing will.
USA Today reported that Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire, Michigan, has claimed the shelter mutt Scout after he repeatedly broke into the nearby home.

One night, the particularly adventurous pup broke free from Antrim County Animal Control and walked through the automatic doors of the nursing home before making a bed for himself on the lobby couch.
The next morning, one nurse was shocked to find the pup perched up on the furniture and sleeping.
The staff member proceeded to call the nearby animal shelter, leading a sheriff to come by and collect Scout.

However, that didn’t stop Scout in the slightest, as the pooch snuck in two more times after that, and staff soon grew to love the four-legged fiend.
“I’m a person who looks at outward signs, and if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be,” said Marna Robertson, 57, the nursing home’s administrator, explained to USA Today.
“He did that one time, two times, three times, and obviously that’s something that you should pay attention to. And I asked the staff: ‘Well, he wants to be here. Would anybody like to have a dog?’”

Not much is known about the pup before he entered the shelter; however, it’s assumed he was an abused dog and previously shot by a BB gun, as his jowl still had some round pellets found.
Once the canine was formally adopted, residents couldn’t be happier.
Rhonda Thomczak, administrative assistant at Glacier Hill, said it brings a slice of ‘home’ to the facility.
“When you’re home you have your pets, and you don’t get to have that here. Having a dog around makes it feel like home,” she said.

Despite the Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility being home to 20 elderly residents, Jenni Martinek, the nursing home’s household coordinator, said he’s each and everyone’s dog.
A video of the pooch roaming around in his new home has made the rounds of social media, warming the hearts of many.
One Facebook user wrote: “This is what every nursing home needs!!”
Another said: “I have something in my eye.”
