Elon Musk's transgender daughter is legally changing her name as she wants nothing to do with her dad.
The Tesla CEO's daughter has filed a petition to the Los Angeles County Superior Court in order to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson, the surname being that of her mum – Musk's ex-wife Justine Wilson.
According to the 18-year-old, the reason she's changing her full name is to reflect her identity, and because 'I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form'.

Although neither Musk nor Vivian have spoken publicly about their relationship or her transition, some have suggested her decision to get her surname changed is sparked by the SpaceX boss's recent comments about the transgender community.
In response to a tweet about a recent documentary by right wing political commentator Matt Walsh, titled What is a Woman?, the 50-year-old businessman questioned gender-affirming surgeries.
"We are simultaneously being told that gender differences do not exist and that genders are so profoundly different that irreversible surgery is the only option," he wrote.

“Perhaps someone wiser than me can explain this dichotomy," later adding: “It is a better world if we are all less judgy.”
Musk's tweets sparked backlash online, with some suggesting he's had such a surgery by getting a hair transplant, something which he has neither confirmed nor denied.
Alongside a throwback photo of a balding Musk alongside a more recent one of him with a thick head of hair, one person wrote: "Cis people get more gender-affirming surgery than trans people do.”

Another said: "Good question! Should we ban gender-affirming surgeries such as hair plugs? Breast implants?”
Back in 2020, the Tesla boss garnered a similar reaction to comments he made claiming 'all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare'.
His statement was a response to an article that criticised him over a meme he’d shared showing an animated soldier wearing a hat that says ‘I love to oppress’ and rubbing blood on his face with the caption: “When you put he/him in ur bio."
Musk tried to downplay his beliefs by pointing out that Tesla 'scored 100/100 for the fourth year in a row in LGBTQ equality', but that didn't stop the online community from condemning his ideas.
As said by one Twitter user: "Fellas, what's more an aesthetic nightmare? Using words that already exist in the English language, or giving your kid a name that sounds like a rejected Doctor Who character?"

Another added: "Someone I respect taught me that putting pronouns in my bio was a way to make social media a more inclusive place for trans people so I did it. It's a small thing and if it helps trans people I feel good about it."
