Being a big fan of McDonald's can be a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions at times.
Obviously you'll always be able to rely on the menu staples like the Big Mac, chicken nugs and a good old portion of fries, but for the special, limited edition items you really have to make the most of them before they're gone.
Over the past few weeks, customers have been able to enjoy some additions such as the Big Tasty, which features beef topped with two slices of Emmental cheese, bacon, lettuce, crispy onions and Big Tasty sauce, as well as the Big Tasty with Bacon, the BBQ Big Tasty, the Homestyle Crispy Chicken Burger and the Creme Egg and Cadbury Caramel McFlurries.

It's bad news if you've fallen in love with any of these items, though, because unfortunately the fast food restaurant is ripping them away from us today (26 April).
As if that wasn't bad enough, there is one other particularly beloved item fans have to say goodbye to – the Chilli Cheese Bites.
Served with a rich tomato dip, the battered snacks made for the perfect side while still allowing customers to mix it up a bit from the regular fries.

Fans haven't been shy in expressing their love for them online, describing them as 'incredible' and 'something else', but they might have to prepare for withdrawal symptoms – especially the Twitter user who admitted they've become 'too attached to the maccies chilli cheese bites'.
As hard as it might be to part with the Chilli Cheese Bites, fans can rest assured there will be at least a few new options to sink your teeth into and to replace what you've lost.
From 27 April until 7 June, fans missing out on the kick provided by the cheese bites will be able to get their hands on the McSpicy to heat up their meals, featuring a spicy chicken breast fillet topped with lettuce and mayo, sandwiched between a toasted sesame seed bun, as well as the Grand Big Mac.

Those still on the hunt for a bit of cheesy goodness will be able to sink their teeth into the new Cheesy Garlic Bites, and while they might not be exactly the same as their predecessors, hopefully they'll be enough to fill the hole.
When it comes to dessert, the Creme Egg and Caramel McFlurries will be replaced by the Flake Raspberry and Flake Chocolate McFlurries.
