Fans left furious as major UK festival cut short for Euros final

Fans left furious as major UK festival cut short for Euros final

Don't they know it might be coming home?

It's (possibly) coming home, provided England can beat Spain in the Euro 2024 final tomorrow (14 July).

Obviously, it'll be a tough task, as many nations brought teams packed with excellent players to the tournament, but none of them have managed to get things going quite like Spain.

They are the clear favourites to win the final, and of all the teams to play at Euro 2024, Spain have arguably provided the best when it comes to quality on the pitch.

History would appear to be on their side as well. Not since Bayern Munich beat Valencia in the 2001 Champions League final has either the Spanish national team or one of Spain's football clubs lost a cup final to a foreign rival.

That's in 22 attempts as well, so Gareth Southgate and his England team will go into that final game in Berlin as the underdogs.

Still, anything can happen in 90 minutes on a football pitch and England's performances have improved in the last couple of games.

The performances in those first few matches were not massively inspiring from the Three Lions, but England have looked better in the quarter-finals and semi-finals so perhaps this team is hitting their stride just at the right moment.

That's the hope you've got to hold on to in these situations, it may be the hope that kills you in the end but this is the men of England reaching a second consecutive Euros final.

We still believe.

While football fans are polishing their sense of optimism ahead of the big fixture, there are some fans who aren't quite as happy with the whole 'England reaching the Euro 2024 final' thing.

That's because a number of festival fans have been dismayed to learn that Wireless Festival is going to be ending slightly earlier to give people the chance to get themselves in front of a screen.

Sunday's headline act is Doja Cat, who will be wrapping up her set at 7pm to give people a chance to make a move ahead of the Euro 2024 final kick-off at 8pm.

Compare that to last night's headliner, Nicki Minaj, who wrapped things up after 10pm, while tonight's main act, 21 Savage, is meant to do the same.

Wireless have been told by fans that 'ending a festival at 7pm is ludicrous', while others have asked whether they'll 'get my money back' as they paid for a full day on Sunday.

"Are you serious? We paid so much for a 7pm curfew and two cancelled artists? I can't believe this," was someone else's response.

There were some accusations that Wireless Festival was using the Euro 2024 final to 'make up for the fact Tyla and Digga D pulled out'.

There were more who commented that Wireless should just put the game up on the big screens and make the most of it, saying it 'would've been a viiiiiibe'.

LADbible have contacted Wireless Festival for comment.
