However, it seems the Average Joe couldn't get enough of Holland's latest venture, with the review website's audience score sitting at a strong 91 per cent as per time of writing.
The British actor told ABC's Live With Kelly and Mark that it's nice to see the show is resonating with regular viewers.
"I would like to say a massive thank you to my fans, and the people that have seen the show because we’re at [91 per cent] on Rotten Tomatoes," the 26-year-old Brit said.
"I feel so grateful that I have a wonderful community of people that support me and are there for me, so I’m honoured and really excited for the rest of the show to come out."

So when they say don't listen to your critics, this must be what they meant.
According to the Rotten Tomatoes critic's consensus, the TV show had potential but failed to follow through.
"The Crowded Room is furnished with undeniable talent and built on a promising premise, but the story runs in circles, resulting in an exhausting and often frustrating experience," the Rotten Tomatoes critics' summary reads.

However, reviews from actual viewers obviously told a rather different tale.
One review read: "Such an intriguing story that keeps you guessing as to what comes next. Tom Holland, Amanda Seyfried, and all the cast make the show so great! You can tell the work that went into it was thoughtful and purposeful. A must-see if you enjoy having to guess what happens next."
Another added: "Enjoying the series so far. The acting is excellent and the story is interesting as a slower placed thriller which I find refreshing. Not sure why it's so poorly rated by critics. Another example of why you can't trust critics. I would definitely recommend watching it and giving it a shot."
Holland recently revealed he was taking a break from acting after working on the 10-episode psychological thriller.

The British star told hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that some people have assumed his break was triggered due to the poor reviews.
"So the press story was that I have taken this year off because of the reviews. But I’m eight months into my year off," the Spider-Man actor said.
Holland revealed he has spent his time off taking it easy by relaxing at his London home or playing golf.

News of his acting sabbatical came last month, with the Uncharted star telling Entertainment Weekly he is now one year and four months sober.
He ditched the booze after he had a bit of a 'meltdown' while filmingThe Crowded Room.
"I’m no stranger to the physical aspects of the job, doing the whole action-movie thing," Holland told the publication.
"But the mental aspect, it really beat me up, and it took a long time for me to recover afterward, to sort of get back to reality."
The first three episodes of the series dropped on Apple TV+ on June 9.
