In an attempt to get himself in shape for the event, Danny kept to a strict diet of fish and rice cakes.
He explained: "Eight o'clock in the morning I'll have fish and a rice cake. At 10 o'clock, I'll have fish. "At 12 o'clock, I'll have fish and a rice cake. At two o'clock, I'll have fish. At four o'clock - just before I train - I'll have fish and a rice cake. I'll train, I'll have me fish.
"I'll come home, have some more fish, with a rice cake, and then have some more fish before I go to bed."

And thus, a meme was born.
Danny, who appeared on an episode of First Dates, is now an absolute unit - so all that fish and those rice cakes have paid off.
Almost two decades on from his brush with viral fame Danny looks so different that his date on First Dates didn’t recognise him.
Speaking on Erasing the Bar, Danny has explained why he looks so different now.

“To be fair, I had a lot better body then, underneath my clothes,” he said. “But because I had dieted down so much I looked really skinny. It’s only because I’m full of carbs and beer and food [that I look like this].
“Obviously, I was 16, 17 - I was 16 in some of the documentary and it goes through to when I was 17 - so anyone at that age… You don’t grow into your features, do you? I’ve become a man, do you know what I mean?
“People come up to me and say ‘Oh my God, you look so different’, and I’m, like, ‘give me a picture of you at 16 and we’ll see if you look different’.”

Danny previously told LADbible that he doesn’t even like fish.
Opening up about what he usually chows down on throughout the day, he said: "Yesterday I had a KFC for dinner [that's lunch for those of you down South]. I had Weetabix for my breakfast and a pizza for my tea.
"But day-to-day I'll eat chicken and potatoes, sweet potato chips... I'll eat healthily, but I just don't enjoy salad."
