Katy Perry low key pranked everyone - including her own mother - during last night's (6 May) Met Gala after uploading photos of herself rocking up in the most 'extravagant outfit'.
Unless you've literally been living under a rock these last 24 hours, you'll be aware that the 2024 Met Gala finally took place last night.
The event's 'Garden of Time' theme saw many of our favourite celebs - including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and the Kardashians - put on quite the show with their designer outfits... though Kim Kardashian's waist-cinching number didn't go down all too well with fans.

Anyway, despite the evening being the biggest event in the fashion and celebrity calendar, a few famous faces were unfortunately absent, including the likes of Rhianna, Beyoncé... and, of course, Katy Perry.
But the 'Fireworks' singer decided to pull somewhat of a prank on her fans (and her mum) by using AI to put herself on the Met red carpet wearing a very on-theme gown.
The eyebrow raising attire shown in one of the images consisted of a low cut floor length gown, designed with flowers and foliage growing up from the hem into the dress.

The second photo was as close up shot of her in a different Met Gala look of a metal corset with a short skirt made of grass and flowers, matched with wet-look hair.
Taking to Instagram, the 39-year-old wrote in the caption: "Couldn’t make it to the MET, had to work."
Her oblivious fans were loving the pics, as one person commented: "She’s working late… CUZ SHE’S A SINGER."

"Katy are making more DAISIES she win the theme of the met gala," a second wrote.
Although, other eagle-eyed viewers instantly spotted AI's influence on the two photos, as another person added: "Hilarious that anyone would ever think that image is real!
"Look at the mess of hands and heads behind her on the right side of the image."

A fourth also joked: "If she would've worn that first dress she would've been the most beautiful of the night."
Now, the third image that Perry shared on the night showed a text message exchange with her mum, who certainly fell for the prank.
"Didn’t know you went to the Met. What a gorgeous gown, you look like the rose parade, you are your own float lol," her mum's message hilariously read.

To which the American Idol judge responded: "Lol mom the AI got you too, BEWARE!"
Last month, the TV personality suffered an awkward wardrobe malfunction, which unfortunately was not AI-generated.
The pop star, 39, was sat besides her fellow judges Luke Bryan, 47, and Lionel Richie, 74, as they watched contestant Roman Collins, 24, take to the stage with 'It's a Man's Man's Man's World'.
The performer, from Long Beach, California, was the final contestant of the two-hour live episode, competing for one of the judges' four spots in the competition.
After belting out the James Brown banger, the crowd erupted - along with Perry's silver top.
When she got up to cheer, her top suddenly broke, as the singer gasped: "That song broke my top off."
"I guess it is a woman's world," she quipped, as Bryan joked: "Ratings. Ratings. Ratings. Here we come, ratings."
