Amanda Bynes has announced her latest career move as she joins OnlyFans for what seems to be a reason you may not expect.
The 39-year-old made her name as a child star on Nickelodeon in the 90s, appearing on the sketch comedy series All That and its spin-off, The Amanda Show.
Having been in a conservatorship from August 2013 to March 2022, with her personal life being highly publicised as she struggled with her mental health and other issues, Bynes announced an indefinite hiatus from acting in 2010.
She's had a variety of gigs since those days as an actor, having graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2019, trying out podcasting and seeking out her manicurist license.
And now, the former child star is somewhat back in the entertainment business as she starts up her own OnlyFans page, outlining the specific content she'll be posting.
She's avoiding the 'sleazy' stuff. (OnlyFans) While many creators make ‘millions’ on the subscription-based platform by sharing adult content, it seems that’s not quite Bynes’ plan.
She took to Instagram Stories yesterday (15 April) to announce: “Disclaimer: I’m doing OnlyFans to chat with my fans through dm’s.”
The She’s the Man actor then added: “I won’t be posting any sleazy content.”
If fans want to be able to have these direct chats with the star, they'll have to splash out $50 (£38) a month for the privilege.
At the moment, she's just got two mirror selfies on her page, one in a black sports bra and joggers and the other more dressed up in a butter-yellow outfit with hair accessories.
Saying she’s ‘excited to join’, Bynes isn’t the only former child actor using the platform to post non X-rated content.
Harry Potter alum Jessie Cave recently announced she’d started a page ‘geared toward people who have an interest or fetish with hair’.
Bynes was a major child star of the late 90s and 00s. (Chris Polk/FilmMagic) Bynes' foot into the OnlyFans world comes not long after she announced she was also going to be entering the fashion industry.
Back in October, she revealed she is collaborating with designer Austin Babbitt (also known as Asspizza) on a number of pieces featuring her original artwork.
The Hairspray star told PEOPLE they were 'working on doing a pop-up art show in December' as she said it 'will have art and clothing'.
Her career moves since those child star days come after she watched Easy A and 'was absolutely convinced I needed to stop acting'.
