Lady Gaga once admitted that the reason she was celibate is because of this 'weird thing' she is scared of happening.
The 'Bad Romance' singer, 38, previously shared her views on sex and the impact it can have on her creative process.
It turns out that being a boundary-pushing pop star doesn't happen by accident and there's much more than talent which is required to get the job done.
To continue to provide fans with hit after hit, the Grammy-winning star once said she will abstain from sexual relationships in order to focus all-in during album-mode.

In an interview from 2010 - long before her engagement to now-fiancé Michael Polansky - Gaga opened up about her music career and exactly what she does to maintain a constant level of muse and inspiration.
"I love my fans more than any artist who has ever lived," the 'Alejandro' star told Vanity Fair.
"I’ve looked every man that I’ve ever dated in the eye and every woman I’ve ever been friends with and there will never be something that I put before my fans."

Gaga went on to reveal that she has a 'relentless pursuit' in her to 'give everything' she's got to her adoring Little Monsters.
So much so that she once swore off sex altogether.
She admitted: "I don’t really have sex.
"I’m quite celibate now.

"I don’t really get time to meet anyone."
She went on to outline the price of being such a well-known star: "I don’t trust anybody. And I don’t know if I ever will.
"But it’s okay. It’s the trade-off."
While revealing that she was 'perpetually lonely' when it comes to relationships, Gaga also understood that it's her 'condition as an artist'.

Part of this condition, Gaga added, has a lot to do with how she uses her energy before highlighting her superstitions surrounding sex.
"I also think I’m afraid of depleting my energy. I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they’re going to take my creativity from me through my vagina."
Since then, Gaga has gone on to star in a handful of blockbuster films, a bunch of critically-acclaimed television shows and has continued to put out banger after banger in her decade-spanning career.

Regardless of how it may sound, it's clear that whatever Gaga's doing in the creative department is definitely paying off.
Gaga's success has transferred to the screen ash she stars as Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel to the 2019's Joker.
Directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix, the film came out in cinemas today (4 October).
