Colin Farrell boasts two Golden Globe awards, an academy award nomination for best actor and was even selected by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2023.
Having starred in many blockbusters such as In Bruges, Horrible Bosses, Batman and of course, the Banshees of Inisherin, if you were to pick the most famous and successful Irish actor of all time, Farrell would absolutely be among the discussion.
Despite all the accolades and achievements, Farrell holds something that perhaps is worth more than all his awards combined: a black card from the Irish fast-food chain Abrakebabra.

Having first opened in 1982, the chain is a firm favourite among ravenous late-night ramblers and fans of the donor kebab. It can count among them Farrell who is very proud to own the chain’s only black card in existence.
Farrell got the upgrade from a gold to a black card several years ago which states on the card: ‘Absolutely no restrictions apply to Colin Farrell, the original gold card holder.’ Even the holders of gold cards are an impressive group of celebrities including Cheryl Tweedy, (formerly Cheryl Cole) Kerry Katona, Jimmy Carr and Bono.
However, there is no customer who is as highly valued by Abrakebabra as Farrell himself who was only delighted with the honour. He actually proudly showed it off on an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live back in 2020.

The Irish actor told Kimmel “I had done an interview for this kebab shop in Aer Lingus magazine which is our national airline, and because they read my interview, they gave me the gold card.
But then, I came on the lovely Ellen Show and came on your lovely show and basically, I took the f*cking thing international. So then I got a call that they had printed the black card, and no one has a black card, the Pope doesn’t have one.”

He added “So I could bring the Pope for a free kebab because that is what I can get. With the gold card, I could feed myself for free, and with the black card I could feed the two of us, or whoever I want.”
Those of us who were hoping to get free Abrakebabra for life now know what it takes to get one. Just star in the biggest movies, win a tonne of awards and lay on the charm on late-night US talk shows…easy!
Farrell finished up the hilarious piece on Kimmel by saying “I was so charmed. I can’t tell you how giddy I was when that came in the post.” Delighted for you Colin…if not a little jealous…
