House of the Dragon’s Milly Alcock admitted she’s still coming to terms with her newfound fame as the attention she’s getting feels ‘f**king weird’.
The 22-year-old, who plays Rhaenyra Targaryen - one of the potential heirs to the Iron Throne - recently sat down with Nylon to talk about the intense fandom the Game of Thrones prequel has acquired.
And with the fandom, there’s just a huge online discourse with Milly’s face just about everywhere, which she admits makes her ‘incredibly anxious’.

However, the Aussie actor does her best not to engage with it.
"All of my friends are very normal and go to uni and just do very basic things, and my family's not in the arts whatsoever, so it's strange," she said.
"It feels like someone's opened Pandora's box and you're kind of just looking through the looking glass. It's a bit Alice in Wonderland-y. It's f**king weird."

Milly added: "I don't know how the socialites of the world can do that. It's kind of driving me off the wall. It's an incredibly difficult space to navigate."
Since the young actor was cast in the spin-off series, her life changed drastically as before; she was living in her mother’s attic and washing dishes struggling to find work.
She told Stellar magazine: "I never thought this would happen to me. I was washing dishes in a restaurant, living in my mum’s attic. This doesn’t happen to people like me, so it was incredibly quick."
Milly also shared that she found out she had landed the role while at a dinner party at her friend’s house.

The first thing she did upon hearing the good news was ask her friend if there was any 'wine' ; the second was to call her mum. We love the order of priorities here.
And while Game of Thrones fans are notorious for being hard to please, Milly’s performance has been met with praise.
One fan on Twitter wrote: "She’s been great all season thus far but Milly Alcock has an absolute superstar performance in tonight’s HOTD."
While another shared: "Milly Alcock as Rhaenyra Targaryen is absolutely amazing. I will miss her stellar performance. She definitely served. I'm very excited to see Emma D'Arcy though as the older Rhaenyra."
Episode five, which is set to be released September 18, will mark Milly’s final performance as Rhaenyra Targaryen as an older actor will replace her for the time jump in the series.

But we have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more of Milly in the future.
