Freeze and check this out now y'all, because the 'Charlie Brown' dance move in the 'Cha Cha Slide' has been explained.
In the wake of the news of legendary DJ Casper - real name Willie Perry Jr - having passed away yesterday (Monday, 7 August) at the age of 58, people are commemorating the musician in the best way they know how - by whacking out a bit of the 'Cha Cha Slide'.
However, there's one part of the iconic song which baffles some to this day - the section where the singer says' Charlie Brown'.

The full verse reads: "Turn it out/ To the left/ Take it back now y'all/ Two hops, two hops/ Two hops, two hops/ Right foot let's stomp/ Left foot let's stomp.
"Charlie brown/ Hop it out now/ Slide to the right/ Slide to the left/ Take it back now y'all/ Cha cha now y'all."
While every person, no matter what age, can manage to understand what it means to 'take it back now' and 'hop,' many remain confused over what you're meant to do when DJ Casper tells us to 'Charlie Brown'.

But thankfully, as always, the internet holds all the answers.
Whenever anyone's confused, Reddit is where people flock for reassurance and apparent expertise.
Taking to the thread, 'No Stupid Questions,' one user asked what you're 'supposed to do during Charlie Brown'.

To which one fanatic responded: "Ah, yes... The mythical 'Charlie Brown'. In my experience, that part simply references a silly dance move that would be most appropriate on one of the Charlie Brown characters, like this."
They went on: "There are a few moves called the Charlie Brown, but for the Cha Cha Slide typically what I see is this: like the running man, but with leg braces. I think part of the reason that nobody is really sure what to do with this part is because it is a variable, ie: do a silly looking charlie brown dance which could be any number of types of move.
"So when people try to learn it, they find that many people are doing different things so nobody is quite sure. You might end up with some groups of people doing one thing, some doing another.
"But finally, we see here in the actual video that the Charlie Brown is something else entirely... Something like a forward and backward bounce on one leg each. We can only assume that this is the official stance on the matter."

If you needed to see it in action, it goes something like this:
DJ Casper's 'Cha Cha Slide' was released in August, 2000 and continues to be a global hit, played at children's parties, birthdays and weddings alike.
The musician's wife confirmed his passing - the star having been diagnosed with two forms of cancer in 2016.

As one Twitter user resolved: "[DJ Casper's] legacy will live on at every bar mitzvah, quinceanera and wedding. RIP."
