When Top Boy was cancelled by Channel 4, fans were left fuming.
Critical acclaimed for its acting, cinematography, and telling stories that echoed real life, it was canned by the public broadcaster after just two seasons.
It left fans demanding more when it came to the future of its core characters, including Dushane Hill (Ashley Walters) and Gerard 'Sully' Sullivan (Kane Robinson).

It left the cast and crew shocked, with Walters at the time saying they were 'starting to do storylines for season three' when the decision was made.
It's a fate eerily similar to that of Netflix's Mindhunter.
The crime thriller follows the FBI's creation of the Behavioral Science Unit (BSU) and the start of the security service's profiling of what we now call serial killers.
Quickly becoming one of the streaming giant's top rated shows, it followed agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), and psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv), as they navigated the late 1970s in a quickly evolving Bureau.

After its second season aired, fans were asking the important question - when can we expect the next instalment?
Unfortunately, after an initial decision to put the third season 'on hold', show-runner David Fincher confirmed it was officially canned by Netflix.
Fans were left bemused, giving how well received it was by critics and the general public.

It's now been more than four years since Mindhunter last aired, and with every passing year fans are naturally less confident of a return in any capacity.
But hope is not all lost.
Firstly, Holt McCallany this week said show-runners had been exploring its possible return.
McCallany told Awards Daily that David Fincher had been 'thinking about' a potential third season.

He added: "I’m not saying it’s going to come back, but what I am saying is that if it comes back, I’m coming back with it.
"You can take that to the bank, but it’ll depend on what David wants to do.”
Secondly, back to Top Boy.
Fans of the London-based crime drama endured a six year wait for the show to return, with Netflix picking up the show.

The original cast and crew returned, with the third outing of the series scoring an incredible 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Personal backing from global superstar Drake certainly helped the show in its return, with many attributing its revival to him alone.
Drake served as executive producer, turning his personal love for the show into a professional project.
It's a great case study for Mindhunter fans to keep the faith, for now at least.
There's still a good 18 months before it hits the time period Top Boy was absent for. What's to stop a top-tier fan of the show publicly flexing their love for the next instalment of all things related to the FBI and serial killers?
Core cast members want to return and a premise for season three was teased towards the end of season two with a focus on real life serial killer Dennis Rader, known as BTK.
We also live a world where quality true crime dramas are incredibly sought after.
And with other streaming giants like Amazon Prime Video committing huge funds to new projects - looking at you and your $465 million budget, Rings of Power - it's safe to say fans wont care where the show ends up if it does indeed end up somewhere at all.
