The hype around this week’s episode is undeniable for fans of The Boys.
Everywhere you turn on social media, mysterious captions and unsatisfying teaser trailers all beg to ask the same question: ready for Herogasm?
The episode’s title, ‘Herogasm’, comes from a six-issue comic miniseries of The Boys released in 2009.

It centred on an annual, invite-only event held for Vought’s superheroes, who get to engage in a feast of carnal debauchery, drugs and promiscuity.
According to the comics, this event takes place on a remote tropical island.
However, fans are speculating that the location may in fact be somewhere in Malibu, after Vought’s PR queen, Ashley (Colby Minifie), explained that Maeve (Dominique McElligott) was attending a ‘wellness retreat’ in the beach city.

Teasers posted by the cast and series creator, Eric Kripke, include the warning message: "This Episode Depicts A Massive Supe Orgy, Airborne Penetration, Dildo-Based Maiming, Extra Strength Lube, Icicle Phalluses and Cursing.
"It Is Not Suitable For Any Audience.”
"Alongside the video teaser, Kripke tweeted: “This is the only footage legal would approve to show ya ahead of time.”
In true The Boys fashion, viewers are being kept on their toes, absorbing all morsels of information they can get their hands on to minimise the inevitable whiplash that will occur as a result of this week’s episode.

In her latest Instagram post, Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight in the show, also wrote: “Herogasm; ‘not suitable for any audience’ inDEED.
"Things you can’t unsee but can’t look away from. Who can guess what I’ve got my hands on here? ***Hint: the real photo’s gonna be deleted by Instagram. Maybe get me banned? (Hold on to your hats, fam. Everything up until this one has been PG)."

She added that viewers should 'schedule a therapy session for Friday'. Count me in.
After producer Seth Rogen’s cameo in episode 5, all bets are officially off the table for whatever The Boys has in store for viewers next.
If the teaser photo of Jack Quaid in a pink slip mini dress is anything to go off, this episode is going to be wild.
However, viewers are soon to be freed from this dreadful anticipation, for as The Boys' official account recently tweeted that the 'unholy week is here'.

For all the fans worried that the episode won’t live up to the unrestrained madness of the comics, Kripke assures that 'you’re definitely going to get the full Herogasm experience'.
