Peaky Blinders could be set for a sensational return to our screens in a never-seen-before era for the show.
The original series ran from 2013 to 2022 and spanned across six seasons, starring the likes of Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson, the late Helen McCrory and Tom Hardy among others.
For those who don't know, the British period crime drama centers on the Peaky Blinders gang following World War I, starting in Birmingham though action moves across the country as the series progresses.

Fans of the show were over the moon last year as a feature film titled The Immortal Man was announced, starring Cillian Murphy as the iconic lead Tommy Shelby, with events taking place during the Second World War, according to reports.
But that may not be all.
As reported by The Sun, a brand new series of Peaky Blinders could be on the way, with filming set to start this summer.
While The Immortal Man started filming in September 2024, it could swiftly be followed by a seventh season of the beloved period series, with the BBC aiming for a 2026 release.

Those behind Peaky Blinders are anticipating a new wave of interest after the release of The Immortal Man this year and want to capitalise on it with a brand new series, 13 years on from the first season's premiere.
While series six was based in the 1930s before leading into WWII for the film, it looks like series seven would be set in the 1950s.
In the years after the war, the UK saw a rise of criminal groups such as the Teddy Boys and the infamous Kray twins in East London.

A TV source revealed to the publication: “The sixth series of Peaky Blinders was supposed to be the last and the movie was meant to be the final farewell for the story.

“But show boss Steven Knight couldn’t resist coming back to the story — his most famous creation — and he’s been dropping hints he wanted to return to do more.
“But the fact that it’s been officially green-lit by the Beeb and wheels are in motion on pre- production will be a huge thrill to fans of the show, which was a huge hit for the BBC.”
It is believed that filming would start in September this year and will air on BBC One in the UK following its release next year, though it would be distributed internationally by Netflix, which is also behind The Immortal Man.

It is currently unknown if Murphy will return as Shelby, though it has been rumoured that he could be a 'father figure' to the younger members of the gang, similar to Polly Gray in the first five seasons of the show.
