Piers Morgan has made his return to Good Morning Britain for the first time in almost four years, and it didn't take him long to cause an issue.
The British journalist and broadcaster was a host on the morning show from 2015-2021, before a dramatic storm off the set marked the end of his tenure on the ITV programme.
Prior to his appearance this morning (3 March), the Morgan, 59, took to social media to announce his return.

On Sunday night, he wrote: "It’s been nearly 4yrs (1,453 days to be precise!) since I departed @GMB rather hastily… but tomorrow morning, for the first time, I’m going back," adding that he'd be on with Susanna Reid and Ed Balls.

Shortly after starting their segment at 8.15am, Morgan interrupted Reid and exclaimed: "Hold on, are we just going to ignore the fact that I haven't been here in 1,453 days?"
To which Reid replied saying that they 'weren't going to ignore that', but Morgan seemed to revert to type, making everyone feel a bit uneasy with his comments.

Never too shy to say what's on his mind, he asked Reid: "Do I not even get a hug?"
Moving closer to Reid while repeatedly saying 'come on', the female GMB presenter clearly looked uncomfortable as Morgan got closer with his outstretched arms.
She was having none of it, reluctantly putting her arms out and looking to give in, but Morgan stopped short and let out an awkward chuckle.

Co-presenter Ed Balls came to the rescue though, getting up and giving Morgan a big hug, before Reid swiftly moved things on.

In case you forgot, Morgan's last appearance on the show came in an episode where he was questioned about his comments on Meghan Markle, and being more sympathetic to people when speaking about mental health.
His GMB colleague, Alex Beresford, pointed out the 'negative press' that her and Prince Harry get, adding: "I watched the programme yesterday and yes they had some great press around the wedding, but what press is going to trash someone's special day?"
"There was bad press around the engagement, before the engagement and everything that has followed has since has been incredibly damaging, clearly, to Meghan's mental health and also to Harry," he claimed.

Beresford went on to point out that he knows that Morgan didn't 'like Meghan Markle', something that he 'made clear' on the show numerous times, revealing: "I understand that you had a personal relationship with Meghan Markle and she cut you off.
"But she's entitled to cut you off if she wants to – has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don't think she has, yet you continue to trash her," he continued, as Morgan continued to be grilled.
Morgan then said that he was 'done with this', apologising and storming off the show, as Beresford called him 'pathetic'.
